Every day about 160,000 children miss school because they are afraid of being bullied.

Every year over 3 million children are the victims of violence and neglect.

Those of you who know me are already aware that I have devoted many years of my career as a psychologist to working with children and adolescents who have been bullied and/or have experienced violence and neglect. The effect this has on their lives—both now and in the future—is often devastating. No words can express the hurt and suffering these young people endure.

During this time of the year when we are focused on sending our children back to school, I hope you will join me in the effort to end childhood violence and bullying. For every “like” on my Facebook page, I will donate $1 to Love Our Children USA, an organization whose mission is to break the cycle of violence against children. Since October is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, this campaign will continue from now through the end of October.
